Being a TCSC member, you will be required to serve 1 full year in council. You must be adaptable, assertive and alert when it comes to situations. You are expected to represent the voice of Taylor’s College Student Council, where listening to feedback with an open heart is a day-to-day instinct. Critical analysis to resolve problems in campus is a skill that you must possess in order to deliver excellence around the campus.
You will receive exposure and networks that are outside your classroom experience, as a TCSC member. Opportunities to lead and learn will also serve to be an extraordinary experience for your college life. You will be able to enhance your leadership and communication skills that will serve well for your university application.
The skills mentioned below are highly sought after as a TCSC member, but they are not must-haves for your application.
Additionally, we welcome any additional skills that you might bring value. In the past, we have members that are talented in coding, photography, design, people management, stakeholder management and debating.
Our recruitment system eliminates applicants during each round, because we value quality over quantity.
We encourage you to fill in your details as much as possible, so that we can understand you better. The purpose of this application is to filter potential members who are committed and passionate in serving students under TCSC.
The interviews will be conducted in pairs or individually, depending on circumstances. Further details about the format and venue will often be notified. Elimination of applicants will also take place here.
Probates of TCSC are required to demonstrate their skills and commitment, which are assessed by TCSC members. This process will usually last for a few months, depending on circumstances.
Every 6 months, the Chair of Student Council will be elected to serve for the following term. During that period, candidates are expected to campaign and are allowed to put up posters around campus.
